Alef Hebrew- 3rd and 4th grade students.

In a comfortable, home environment, students will be introduced to the world of Hebrew by learning decoding, simple vocabulary and by reading basic blessings and prayers. Holiday words, writing, and understanding the Hebrew calendar are also components of this class. Through fun interactive games and creative activities, students will strengthen their skills and knowledge.

Bet Hebrew-5th and 6th grade students.

Through the exploration of Hebrew prayer, students will learn and understand Shabbat morning/afternoon prayers in a relaxed, casual setting. Modern Hebrew conversation, writing, the Hebrew calendar and holiday vocabulary are also components of this class. Through engaging activities and fun games, prayer and modern Hebrew vocabulary and grammar will be reinforced.

B’nai Mitzvah-

This preparatory class for B’nai Mitzvah will empower students to think about the meaning of Bar/Bat Mitzvah and how they live Jewishly. Learning the Torah trope/cantillation symbols, the basic combinations, and the steps in the Torah reading process are key elements of this class. Students will explore the structure of the Shabbat morning service and strengthen their knowledge of the prayers and Aitz Hayim melodies. Modern Hebrew conversation and the Jewish calendar are also integrated into the class.
