Shavuot is our most sophisticated festival with the most complex look at Jewish life. Yet it is the holiday with the fewest rituals and customs; and therefore, it is the least observed.

This year with Rabbi Elan Babchuck we will explore three themes.

On Thursday evening, we will explore the Sinai experience—we, of all generations, all stood together. What do my parents promises have to do with me? What commitments transcend individuals and generations?

On Friday morning we will look at the Ten Commandments. Are they accepted as all or nothing or what do we do if they are in conflict?

And on the day we get the law, we’ll look at love in the Book of Ruth.

And, of course we will have Yizkor.

Join us for the joy of davening and the enlightenment of discussion.
